It's very hard trying to aim fast with a joystick and your left thumb especially if you are right handed (Not sure about xbox controlers but PS controlers are set up like that) I've known this for a long time, about a year after I started playing Halo I picked up a cheap controler for my PC, used it a few times and just gave up.
If consoles had an option for keyboard/mouse ( There could be money in that ), I might be persuaded to get one considering how cheap they are compared to building a good gaming PC.
The only other thing that really annoys me about consoles is you have to load a disc everytime you want to play a different game ... nah .... I'd still go with a PC any day.

on my xbox with a 120 gig hard drive, I have a few games stored on there that don't require the CD in the drive bay in order to play.
I do agree with prefering the mouse and keyboard over the controller any day.

What annoys me is that its always talked about from one side or the other in a '133t' manner. Plus...im wondering when they are gonna hardwire a PS3 and 360 to be able to play against eachother...i really wanna see how that works out cus we all know that eventually...it will happen.

Interesting indeed, but I must say that every time I play Halo, I HAVE to play it with a controller because the first time I ever played Halo was on my cousin's XBOX. I've tried several times to play the game with keyboard and mouse but I can't quite get the same feel of accuracy as I do with a controller. On the other hand, however, COD4 doesn't have the option to use a controller so I had no choice but to use the keyboard and mouse setup from the beginning and every time I try to play COD4 on a console I just get owned.
So in my opinion, it depends on two things really. The game itself and whether or not the player began playing said game with a controller or a keyboard and mouse setup.
As the article states...it comes down to accuracy of the control used, and no offense to the console users but you CAN NOT get the accuray and speed of a mouse and keyboard with a PS or XBOX control. They just don't poll fast enough. I have Modern Warfare 2 for both the PS3 and the PC. I am fairly good on both. (not the best) The fastest time I can run the pit on a PS3 is 1:02 and the fastest i can run on the PC version is :32.
Yes, whether a person is used to one over the other is a factor but a negligible one at best, no offense.
But for those of you who wish to try, check this out: Split Fish
Maybe it will work, maybe it won't Who know....but I will tell you bout it when mine gets here.

When it comes to Halo I find it easier(and preferable) to use mouse and keyboard. It is how I have always played, and probably how I will always play. My roommate last year brought his xbox 360 and I was able to try Halo 3 out on a console. I must say, the controller was NOT doiong it for me. Hitman's right, console controllers can't compete with a mouse in speed and accuracy.
But one thing a console has that a pc lacks is sufficient processing power(exluding those with really good gaming computers like alienware). I tried playing COD5 on my computer last year and it was slow as a turtle on a treadmill... that is all...

I have to say, I can't play games on the PS3 anymore because I've played on my new xbox, and with that controller set-up, with the depressions on the joysticks, it makes it much easier to move them around and aim to shoot and everything(I play teen shooters whenever they come out, a.k.a Mercenaries 2). I find it much harder to use the PS3 controllers, due to the fact that my thumbs slip off of the rounded thumbsticks. Alright, continue with your ramblings.
