Not sure yet. I'm one of those few who gets these benifits paid for by work and union. Only thing I pay for is co-pay for visits. AND it bites when ya gotta go into E.R. at $100 bucks each time. Had to go in twice this year to E.R. Otherwise it's $30 bucks for the visit, for anything NON-emergency. And thats prety much for almost anything, including Eye exams, General check ups, or even getting stitches Like I recently had to get in E.R., which was Sunday nite at close to 9pm and only thing available was E.R.

Im still not sure but being able to set foot in a Dr. office for under 200 bucks and visit the ER for under $2500 would be nice but I doubt this bill will help that.....

Somebody say Dr.?

Well, on one side I kinda like the idea, on the other hand it sucks because good people who earn their way ( Not including rich people ), are getting screwed over. I hear that what they're doing is against constitutional law because apparently health care is supposed to be the citizen's responsibility, not the governments. Also from what I gather, it sucks that we're going to be forced to use the governments health care instead of using one that we choose. If you want to get your own health care, you're at least given the option to "pay a fee" to discontinue the government's plan to get your own.

I just don't know, it's a double edged sword either way you look at it. On one side it saves tax payers money to simply get their own insurance while people who can't get left behind, and on the other side everyone get's health care but the people who earn their way ( again not including rich people ), get stuck with the bill, so to speak.

What it all boils down to is this, someone's going down either way, be it poor people who have it bad enough as it is or people that are able to sacrifice a couple $100 a month. Personally, I think the better option is "B" because it'll hopefully make us a little bit stronger as a Nation, at least our health anyway, but to be honest, I just don't care. If :cussing: hits the fan I'll just move out of country. :rofl2:

what gets me is that everyone has to buy insurance or you get fined...i thought this was socialized medical care...how is fining people and making them get insurance social...shouldn't they raise taxes and dump than money into back into the health care system and help those that need it...a few years back i didn't have insurance cause 86 bucks was a lot of money to pay from a check that wasn't all that much...so i went without insurance for like 5 years...partly because my next employer didn't offer me any insurance cause i was a contract employee...meaning that i was working through a temp agency so it wasn't their responsibility but rather the agencies to provide insurance...and they didn't...so if i were still in that position i would have to pay for my own insurance or pay a fine... fortunately my current employer pays for my insurance....

We're kinda of lucky in Quebec. On one side we don't pay for emergency care or visits to the hospital, clinics, or docotors.
On the other hand, you can wait anywhere from 2-12 hrs in the ER as they filter and pass really important cases first.
So if you show up with a headache, you will pass after everyone has gone through including thiose who show up during the day.
Everything is covered up to the age of 16 ( eyes, teeth, etc), after that, you're covered for twice a year for teeth, pay your pills, eye exam once a year, but hospital visits, operations are covered for life.
My wife has insurance which pays 90% the costs of medication, glasses, teeth, in which it costs her $280.00 a month to cover the whole family, so all in all, it's not that bad when you look at the costs of medication.
Just our Canadian 2 cents worth.

Alot of states are working on amendments to opt out of the HCR. Seeing how we just lost our company insurance a month ago because of the high bill being paid for ex-employees still on Cobra, I was glad to see them eliminate the preexisting conditions clause so my wife wouldn't have to wait a year to continue her treatment. The rest is a joke, especially the fines for not having it....

Also, it's real nice to criticize and cômplain about the ways things are or are going to be.
Doea anyone have any idea what it takes to put something like this together?
If you think you have what it takes to come up with something better, please feel free to write to the Whitehouse and put your suggestion through.....

Scout, you apparently don't know what you're talking about if you think we are becoming a communist society. Ever heard of the Constitution?...might want to try reading it sometime.

Anyway, we need some sort of reform because currently insurance companies are charging those who have heath insurance to pay for those who don't. I personally feel everyone needs health insurance A) Because everyone will get hurt majorly at least once in their lives and B) so that we don't have to pay for stupid idiots who make us who have insurance pay for their stupidity. But everything needs reformed, including how the medical system works. Hospitals have gotten ridiculous...one person I know had surgery...they charged him $85 a GAUZE. Specialists need to stop making millions while front line doctors make less than a third of what they make.

This is a baby step towards what needs to happen.

i agree that the medical system needs a large reform...i had family member that spent a lot of time in the hospital when they were still alive...they would use tape on him and charge for the entire box...we started taking stuff every time we checked him out of the hospital...also i know someone who has refused service because they lack insurance and already have hefty bill with the dr...she's been living with gallstones for 2 years now cause they refuse to operate on her till she pay the bill off...and she can only get into the ER because drs refuse to see her...but each er bill puts here further into debt which ends up putting her further in debt...she's finally found a DR that goes behind the system quite literally doesn't charge her for visits and is even going to schedule her surgery and claim ignorance when they question him about why she was allowed to get it...

yeah i think they need to do something but i dont think that the bill is what they need. when my grandma was in the hospital before she died they were charging her about 2000 a day to stay in the hospital. after she finally passed on my grandpa was stuck with over 200000$ in medical bills. he makes about 50000$ a year on his retirement. which means for the rest of his life now he gets to pay for medical bills that werent even his and they didnt save her... he got detailed statements from the hospital and they were charging her from 10-30$ for a Band-Aid. absolutely rediculous... i mean all in all that was one of the cheapest things but that just goes to show how much the gouge the people on a visit to the docs. I could go on but i think ive left enough to be read... as it stands i owe about 5000$ in medical bills just from my son in the 4 months hes been alive, but its cheaper to pay those then to pay 800$ a month to get him insurance through my company, which only pays 70% after a 1500$ deductible...
